Nursery Rhyme Week – Day 4

Today we explored a nursery rhyme that we were not very familiar with, it was called Lavender’s Blue. We listened to the rhyme and tried to join in on the repeated parts:

We looked at pictures of the lavender flowers and talked about what they looked like and what colours they were. We found out that the green part of the lavender is called the stem, and the purple coloured parts are called buds. We then created our own fabulous paintings of the lavender:

#dm “i painting stem”

#dg “my flower purple”

#ra “its purple and green”

#gj “flower”

We later went outside to find a lavender flower. We saw that it looked just like our paintings, and each had a smell of it:

#ac “it smells like strawberries”

#ooj “it smells so nice”

#oe “I don’t like that smell”
